Hundreds and Thousands

4 is in the Cosy Room taking photos of 1 and 0. A girl has a hundred or so beads to make a necklace but then has only 10, then one. A boy has similar problems with building bricks, as does a woman with gloves. 6 flies out, and the Numberjacks work out that the Numbertaker is taking tens, hundreds and thousands. They make the numbers with 11, 0 and the photos of 0. First 1 agent, then 10, then a hundred with 1000 fingers help 6 deliver Brain Gain, and all is well.

More Ways Than One

In the gym, 4, 5 and 6 are playing a version of circle slide, using different ways of moving. 4 goes out when a girl is unintentionally putting on her coat in a strange way, wriggling into it when it is already done up. Other things are being done in very different but not very sensible ways. 7, 8 and 9 are on their way to the control room help, but the Puzzler has trapped 8 in his bubble. The Puzzler will release 8 if they can make eight three different ways. The Numberjacks solve the puzzles, the Puzzler cheerfully admits defeat and goes.

In 0 and 1's bedroom, 7 is telling them a night time story of the Numberjacks at night. An agent is in their pyjamas, reporting that a man is washing his car in the middle of the night. 6 flies out. Later things go wrong with night time things happening in the daytime. It's Spooky at work. 3,4,5 and 6 go out one after the other; to sort out morning things like getting up and dressing; daytime things like going to school and having lunch; evening things like having tea and going to bed; and night time things like being asleep. Spooky is put to bed and all is well.

Fraction Fiction

In the cosy room, 3 and 4 argue over entertaining 5's buddy blocks. They try to share them but the blocks get bored and wander off. A call comes that two boys are arguing over a ball, so 3 flies out. Other people argue over things, and they are split into useless parts. The Numberjacks send Brain Gain to put things back together. Then Shape Japer splits an apple into two parts, and the Numberjacks realise that sometimes fractions of things are fine. The Numberjacks divide the Shape Japer into halves, then thirds then quarters.

The Dreaded Lurgi

In the gym 6 can't jump on the seesaw - and 4 feels ill too - they've both got the dreaded lurgi. A boy can't stop bouncing up and down on a trampoline. 5 flies out to investigate, while 4 and 6 go for a lie down, leaving 3 in charge at base. Other people, including the cook have trouble with things going up and down or round and round. The Numberjacks try to send Brain Gain to get things sorted, and various agents give their help. 3 finally manages to send Brain Gain by falling on the Brain Gain button.

Areas of Concern

In the gym, 6 and his buddy tiles are making patterns on the floor and flying around. A girl's bedcover is too small and then too big. A teacher covering a table for painting finds the sheet gets too small then too big. It's the Puzzler at work. 6 meets the Puzzler's challenges to measure the area of different shapes, which gets more and more complicated. They measure the shapes using paper sheets like the buddy tiles. The Puzzler admits defeat and goes. Back at base the Buddy Tiles try to measure 4.

A Different Sort

In the Cosy Room, 0 and 1 are failing to help 3 sort her beautiful things. A girl's toys are being jumped into groups of animals and trucks. In the park, picnickers are in groups by age, or by the colour of their tops. Then they are grouped by the things they are playing with - curvy things or straight things! Spooky is responsible. The Numberjacks send Brain Gain but 4 has been jumped away by Spooky Spoon because he isn't a big thing. 4 comes back and manages to sort Spooky. The Brain Gain gets through and all is sorted.

Matchmaking

Numberjack 1 plays a trick on Numberjack 4, always making the number of buddy blocks on the seesaw unbalanced. There are more problems with numbers not matching, and 3 flies out. A boy has one sock and three shoes, but only two feet. The gardener has three plants, but only two pots. The teddy bears at the picnic are four in number, but have only three drinks. Two children have two bikes but then one is taken away by the Numbertaker. The Numberjacks manage to make the number of things match, and the number of Numbertakers is matched to the number of elephants in the park: zero.

In the Cosy Room, 3's buddy blocks become cylinders. 5 has to fly out when a boy is having trouble with his chalks, a gardener struggles with an out of control fence post and a delivery man with a rolled up carpet. All sorts of problems with different types of cylinders like a hat box, a tube of sweets and a cake are finally resolved, and the Shape Japer is sorted out. 3 is glad her circle sticks helped solve the cylinder problem, and they chase her.

Out on location, there are problems with a bike, a car and a lady's ring. 4 flies out. The Numbertaker is halving the number of things each time. The Numberjacks double them back to normal. In the cafe some customers have no food, and some have too much, and children at the school can't agree what to do. 4 flies out. Then people keep going back to the beginning of things and start counting all over again. 6 flies out to battle with the Problem Blob. The Numberjacks send Brain Gain to get people to carry on counting from where they are rather than starting again. 6 gets blobbed too, but Brain Gain saves him. All is sorted.

In the gym, 4 is helping 3 get out lots of boxes. She wants to put one beautiful thing in each box, then changes her mind when she sees how lonely each looks. A boy has two bike helmets, then none, and the diners in the cafe have similar problems. 5 flies out, and discovers that Spooky Spoon is the culprit. The Numberjacks send Brain Gain to make everything one each. But then the diners have only one bit of each type of food each, so the Numberjacks send new Brain Gain - sometimes one thing each is good, sometimes two or more things is good.

6 and his buddy sticks are measuring things in the Gym. Out on location, things are changing length, including pencils, trousers, and brushes. It's all the fault of the Shape Japer. The Numberjacks send Brain Gain to change things back to normal by matching them to things that haven't changed. Later 6 uses the buddy sticks to measure ties and mops and restore them to nomrality. They change the size of the Shape Japer and she goes off in a huff.

Numbers 3 and 4 are in the Cosy Room and 3 says 4 isn't good at noticing things. On location, a teddy bear jumps around and things disappear, but a girl doesn't notice. The Numbertaker is causing trouble, as 4 discovers. A pile of chairs collapses, a lady's lipstick turns to tomato sauce, a teacher's scissors turn into bananas and a gorilla appears - but still no one notices. The Numberjacks stop the Numbertaker taking things away, and get people noticing - but then he starts taking people away. Brain Gain helps the kids to notice what's going on and chase the Numbertaker away.

In the gym, 3 is trying to get 1 to play with the Hover Dice and the number track. A girl has one, then two, then three strange things. 1 boy does one, then two, then three silly movements. Adults have the same problem with strange things and silly movements. The Puzzler challenges 3 to find the pattern. 3 says it's 1, 2, 3. The pattern changes to 4, 5, 6, and finally Numberjacks 7, 8 and 9 help 3 to find the last pattern and defeat the Puzzler.

A girl's blackboard is changing size, as is a man's writing paper and the flag on the back of a bike. In a school, kids are playing with hoops that change size. 6 flies and discovers out the problem is down to the Shape Japer. The Numberjacks realise they are dealing with rectangles, triangles, and circles. Out on location, a girl thinks the same about her toys, and the waitress, a man and a teacher have the same problem. It's the Problem Blob at work, as 5 discovers. The Numberjacks protect everything from the blobs to stop them moving, but things move anyway, so they are all counted all over again. The Numberjacks send Brain Gain to stop people counting things when they move. All is sorted, and the Blob goes off in a huff.
